The Werner Shuna is a classic all-around high-angle paddle. The versatile mid-size blades fit a wide range of kayakers for both technical paddling and general touring. Light, durable and super efficient.
  • Great for skilled, average-strength kayakers looking for an efficient, easy-to-handle high-angle paddle.
  • Carbon fiber continuous-weave blades for exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and long-lasting durability.
  • Curved dihedral blade face reduces "flutter" and enhances maneuverability, helping you smoothly link strokes.
  • Werner's exclusive Smart-View™ adjustable ferrule gives you a convenient two-piece paddle that looks and feels like a one-piece.
  • The Smart-View system lets you quickly and easily adjust the offset, or feather angle, of your paddle in 15 degree increments with right- or left-hand control.
  • Small diameter shafts are available and recommended for paddlers whose hand (from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger) measures 6 1/2" or smaller.

Product Tips

  • Adjustable ferrules are built with fine tolerances for a precise fit. Sand, silt or salt left inside the ferrule will interfere with adjustability. After each use, take the paddle apart and thoroughly rinse the ferrule with warm water. Dry before reassembling.

Comments about Werner Shuna Carbon Paddle:

My skills are only adequate. I can't eskimo roll and wouldn't want to be in 6 foot surf. 3 foot surf is not a problem. I'm a strong paddler and 5'8" tall and was looking for a paddle to drive a 14 foot boat as fast as possible for 4 to 6 hours. I bought the 210 cm paddle and it was a good choice for that purpose. The NRS catalogue specified that this paddle in this length is for stronger paddlers and that is true. It does require some strength. Excellent quality, no unwanted flex, no flutter. It just drives the boat forward with no drama.

    Great Paddle

Comments about Werner Shuna Carbon Paddle:

Great paddle! Used it for a week-long trip to Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska earlier this summer and found the lighter weight and greater rigidity of the paddle to be very helpful in keeping fatigue to a minimum through long days in the cockpit. Also have used the paddle in rolling practice and shorter evening paddles from home. I do feel like I have to treat it more carefully than the plastic-bladed paddles (also Werner high-angle paddles) that I have been using, but I have not yet experienced any indications of real fragility.
