How To: Inflate a Raft (2:00)

You've invested in a good boat; you want to make sure it lasts a long time. Proper inflation techniques go a long way toward protecting the raft's seams and the baffles between chambers from strain and damage. In this video, Josh Gile, NRS Repairs, goes over steps for pumping up to recommended levels while keeping equal air pressure on both sides of each internal baffle. It's simple stuff, but doing it right is important boat longevity insurance.

How To: Fold an Inflatable Boat or SUP for Storage (2:33)

One of the great things about inflatable rafts, catarafts, kayaks and SUP boards is that when not in use they can be deflated, taking up very little storage space. In this video the NRS Repairs crew gives you the tips and techniques to minimize stress on seams and material while they're being folded and tucked away.

Comments about NRS Otter 120 Self-Bailing Rafts:

Since I purchased a 12' Otter in April I've had the chance to run it a few times and couldn't be happier with it for the price I paid. I compared quite a few different boats and am very happy with my decision. I run the Arkansas with it a lot and tracks well and handles larger loads. My only complaint would be some more protection on the underside but I've had a few scrapes with the low water and the bottoms holding up awesome!

Comments about NRS Otter 120 Self-Bailing Rafts:

Taken down the ocoee river on all three sections 6 times over a 5 day period. guided by myself and my brother. The bottom held up well and has very little wear and tear so it should last for a long time. But i would feel more comfortable if it had the black abrasion guards on the entire boat bottom instead of just the tubes. otherwise incredible raft. looking forward to next season and bigger rivers.

What frames are compatible with this raft in order to make it a fishing raft also? Can you take the two inner tubes out?

Jay, the thwarts are removable and you'll want to do that when fitting a frame. The 48"W x 65"L Fishing Frame, Item # 92013.02, is a perfect fit. For a fisherman in the back you can add the Stern Seat Mount, # 92017.02. Take a look at a fishing package we've put together for the larger Otter 130, Item # 85014.01. And you can see how it goes together by looking at this article - http://www.nrs.com/tech_talk/frameFacts.asp - The NRS frame system is totally modular so you can put on just the parts you want and need. Give us a call and we'll work you out a bid based on how you want to use the boat, 800.635.5202. We look forward to visiting with you.

What is the weight capacity rating for the Otter 120 Raft?

Jon, we don't list weight capacity for our boats, see - http://www.nrs.com/boating_tips/boatweightcapacity.asp - The 120 can easily pack 5-6 adult paddlers for day trips and with a frame can take 1-2 folks and their gear on multiday adventures.

Not sure about the actual weight capacity...but I will say it is a comfortable size boat for 4 adults weighing a total of 800- 1000lbs, plus a little bit of gear (a day cooler and dry bag).
