How To: Inflate a Raft (2:00)

You've invested in a good boat; you want to make sure it lasts a long time. Proper inflation techniques go a long way toward protecting the raft's seams and the baffles between chambers from strain and damage. In this video, Josh Gile, NRS Repairs, goes over steps for pumping up to recommended levels while keeping equal air pressure on both sides of each internal baffle. It's simple stuff, but doing it right is important boat longevity insurance.

How To: Fold an Inflatable Boat or SUP for Storage (2:33)

One of the great things about inflatable rafts, catarafts, kayaks and SUP boards is that when not in use they can be deflated, taking up very little storage space. In this video the NRS Repairs crew gives you the tips and techniques to minimize stress on seams and material while they're being folded and tucked away.

Can you (nrs) put a self bailing floor in this boat?
Asked on 5/12/2015 by Anna from Wa

Anna, we don't make a self bailing floor that small. Take a look at the Tributary 9.5 HD, Item # 87103.03. A second thwart can be added to the boat.

Can this used with oar locks and oars? If so which ones?
Asked on 6/14/2014 by Douglas from Louisville, KY

Yes, Douglas, the boat can be rowed. The 48" wide Longhorn Frame, Item # 92010.02, will fit the boat. And you'll want 7' oars. Give us a call, 800.635.5202, and we'll help you get the best setup for the type of boating you're wanting to do.

How much weight (persons) will the NRS 9'6" otter livery raft hold?

We don't list weight capacities for our boats, but this Livery could be paddled by 3-4 people and you could row it with a fisherman in front and back.

can you use this onb a class II river? Is there some where on your sight that I can determine whoich type products which match up to which class of river?
Asked on 4/26/2013 by Jacob from United States

Jacob, there is no such place where you can match boat to rapid class. I can tell you that standard floor rafts had been used on Class !V+ rivers for years before the advent of the self-bailing floor. The Otter 9'6" can handle Class II just fine; just remember to bring a bail bucket.

Comments about NRS Otter Livery 96 Standard Floor Rafts:

Exactly what I was looking for. Light to carry/ handle. Great for two people, but up to 4 adults still work well. A lot of fun in the water. Small enough that you feel the rapids, but my wife will come with us because she feels safe in it. It is awesome!
