Great oar blades overall - They can be broken though... Buying them again.
Just back from the middle fork salmon and broke one cleanly at the neck and bent a second beyond repair. Made of plastic and aluminum they generally hold up well - but once bent they cannot be restored in the field.

            Will buy again.

Yes. I use mine on a 16 ft drift boat. Should be plenty of blade for a 9' raft.

                          A:

What I have found is that the 8" blade on a 9' oar moves a boat about the same as a standard 6" blade on 10' oar, giving you a more narrow profile on smaller rivers. Should work on a 9' raft but really depends on the length of oars you are pushing.

I'd go for the 6-1/2" blade, instead.

Sure, they fit regardless of oar shaft length. The 8" refers to the blade width; the outfitter's is the wide version. I believe that the standard blade is only 6-1/2" wide. I prefer the standard ones...

the blade works great and has solid purchase with the water. you’ll have to figure out total length you want for the final thing though. Prob 8’ or 8.5’ with ur raft. Happy boating!

Does this come as a pair?

All oar blades that we carry are priced as "each," individually. Sorry for the confusion.

                        Q:

I am considering mating these blades to 2-piece 5' aluminum shafts - the current blades are only 15.5" long. These blades would increase my aluminum oars to around 6'.

My aluminum shafts are 1.25" diameter - can you please tell me what diameter shafts these blades fit?

                        Thanks!

Danny, looks like these won't work for you. The outside diameter of the spline that fits inside the oar shaft is 1 5/8" in diameter.

The outside diameter of the blade shaft is 1 9/16" and they are designed to fit 1 7/8" oar shafts. These blades will probably not fit your 1.25" oar shafts.

I believe it is 1 7/8" . I use Carlisle oars and the website says they are 1 7/8 diameter. I do not have the oars at home but I am absoultely sure they are bigger than 1.25" diameter
