    Q:

I'm looking at getting this kayak. Wondering what would be a good paddle for it. I live in the Southwest, boating mostly the Chama, the San Juan and Deso. I'm just under 6 feet and my partner is 5'4". Any recommendations for paddles and sizes?

      A:

old whitewater kayak paddles and muddle through. I'm guessing a longer
paddle, like a touring kayak paddle, might be more effective since this
boat is relatively wide, but that's just an uneducated guess. we elected
to just use what we already had, and it seems to work ok.

Take a look at our paddle sizing guide - http://www.nrs.com/inflatables/paddle_sizing_guide.asp - I think these guidelines work best for a more relaxed, low-angle paddling style. If you choose a more aggressive, high-angle style, you can knock 10 cm off the recommendations. As to which paddle to recommend, you get what you pay for. More expensive paddles tend to be lighter, which lessens paddling fatigue. If you're just getting started with this type of boating look under WW Kayaking paddles for lower priced models. If you already have experience, spend as much as you can afford on better paddles. Give us a call, 800.635.5202, for help in narrowing down the choices.

Yes, the seats strap in and can be moved by adjusting the straps and selecting the loops in the bottom they are attached to.☺

There is not a removable skeg that I am aware of. It would probably help a great deal and one should be designed. The boat has a tendency to not track well in flat water. I plan to try to fit the skeg from my old wind surfer

Ours does not, but that would be great for flatwater. This is a fun boat
on the river but doesn't track well on flatwater.
