Comments about NRS PTS SUP Paddle:

Just brought 8 of these paddles down here to Brazil for my SUP rental location. I have had them for about 3 months now and couldn't be happier. What makes me the happiest is the price vs quality ratio. So far the paddles are very durable. I have also tested them a handful of times and I was really impressed how nice they paddled. For rental, loan to a friend, reserve, and recreation paddle it is the best I have used.

      Service and delivery comments:

Arrived in good condition and well packed. I used the same packaging and box to bring with me to Brazil and all the paddles arrived without any problems even though the box looked like it had been through a war.

I use this paddle with my board on flat water, going upstream on the Animas River. It works just fine.

        Service and delivery comments:

I received my paddle board about 2 weeks before this paddle finally arrived. I contacted NRS and they were super helpful in tracking where the paddle was held up and when it should arrive.

Comments about NRS PTS SUP Paddle:

I'm new to paddleboarding, so affordability was important. This paddle is strong and although it is a little heavy, it suits my needs well enough for now. I might buy a lighter one in the future, but it had allowed me to learn that I enjoy paddleboarding. This has a 2-part shaft- won't fit in a paddleboard pack w/o sticking out the top.

            Service and delivery comments:

Fast delivery, exceptional service from NRS. Will buy from them in the future.

This is a great paddle for less than most other brands of SUP paddles. I bought one to replace the paddle that came with my board. I am pleased with the strong feel and control in the water.

I'm sorry- I just realized that I didn't answer your question. I went with
the larger 79"-91" paddle. The size is fine for me (I'm 5'7".)

                A:

I'm 5'7" and I still use this, but it is heavy and if you can afford it
now, you might want to spring for a lighter paddle. Water gets inside it
through the adjustment holes, and you have to tip it back and forth to get
it out- maybe all paddles are like this, but it makes it even heavier.
Water gets inside primarily when I practice getting back on the board in
deep water, so maybe you will keep it drier.

A good rule-of-thumb is to add 8" to your height for river or ocean surf paddling and 10" flat water cruising. So, pick an adjustable length to cover that range.

An adjustable is nice for different conditions and if you let friends use your equipment. This particular adjustable is just OK, I’d say. It’s certainly tough and not too heavy for the price, but after using it for a while I found I dislike the adjustment holes at the top of the paddle… other adjustment mechanisms leave a smooth shaft. Bottom line: I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in this paddle, but you might check out other adjustables first.

Jay, It does float, but not indefinitely. It has some cork flotation it it,
the problem is it does let some water in and traps it so it does not
readily drain out. It is a good paddle for the price, a bit on the heavy
                side.

I changed my mind several times on this paddle. I ended up getting it. Glad I
did. It is adjustable and seems very tough and well made. I like the cup of
the blade very much. It will really give you some pull when SUP'ing into the
wind but it still has a nice angle for cadence paddling.
