Received my shippment just in time to wear them daily on our recent Grand Canyon self support trip. Great fit, durable, ankles seal up well for a splash pant, light weight but effective. Wore them with a base layer of hydroskin and stayed warm and dry. The extra deep fabric in the crotch area gives you a lot of mobility without worrying about tearing the seams.

I called and asked about fit on these and it was suggested that I buy a large instead of a medium. The large is a bit big in the waist and are a too long; however, they worked fine and I was able to "hike up" the pants to cover more of my middle and the length was then good.

Got caught in pouring rain on recent trip on Green River in Utah and the pants functioned fantastic

              Q:

My sit on top Kayak tends to accumulate water, especially where I sit. while this is OK in the summer, I'm concerned about spring and fall paddling when the temp and water is cooler. Would you recomend splash pants or a wetsuit?

                A:

I have splash pants and a 4/3 wetsuit. I don't ever use the splash pants. I
kayak in 50 degree water and the wetsuit is sufficient for the temp. If it
was colder I would probably just get a thicker wet suit.

                A:

It all depends on how wet you typically get during a paddle. If you get
soaked by pounding waves or end up in the water often a wetsuit might be a
better option. For anything short of that splash pants are fine. I prefer a
dry top/splash pants combo because it's much more comfortable. The material
makes them very versatile. You can layer underneath them. Anything from
lightweight running tights to heavy duty thermal underwear. Definitely get
a dry top/splash top to match the pants.

                A:

My butt continuously sits in a small pool of water in my inflatable
kayak. In spring, early summer, and fall I wear Hydroskins when the
water is below 65F. Any water that penetrates the Hydroskin warms
quickly and is not uncomfortable. I only add splash pants when the
water is so cold that I need the splash pants to keep my legs warm.
That's usually when the air or water is below 55F. Splash pants would
probably be too warm during summer.
Wetsuits are seldom used nowadays for paddling. People mostly use
Hydroskins which offer more "mix and match" flexibility. I have
Hydroskin jacket, pants, and booties. Also a Hydroskin vest for
in-between weather when my arms don't need to be covered. So I would
recommend getting Hydroskin first, and adding splash pants only if you
need more warmth for cold-weather paddling.

                A:

The splash pants will keep water away, unless you go for a swim, but won't provide much warmth by itself. You can add fleece, or other layers, underneath for warmth, but again, that only works as long as you don't go in the water. The wise approach is always "dress for the swim". In spring and fall when the water is colder you'll want to wear an insulating system that can get wet. Will, the sizing chart is our Men's Sizing chart, used in all our men's garments. Not all of our pieces come in that full range of sizes. The measurements you list fall in the XXL size; I think that should fit you just fine.

Seams on the endurance pants are stitched. and kinda welded. The pants brand new are great, and a good investment. If you hike through brush or pricker bushes, the pants may puncture. I had the crotch seam split apart after 60 days or so of use (this happened on day 2 of a Grand Canyon trip). If you velcrow the ankles and waist bad tight, you will stay dry during a quick dunk, or even wading in the water. I love these pants, they key you very comfortable when getting splashed.

Not sure what you mean by welded but it appears to me that the seam is sewn
and it appears to have a plasticky cover over the seam which is fused by
                heat.

It's best to hand wash technical outerwear, to avoid damaging the waterproof-breathable membrane. If simply rinsing in warm water doesn't remove the salt, we recommend using a cleaner specially formulated for these fabrics - like ReviveX Fabric Cleaner or Nikwax Tech Wash.
