How To: Seal a Dry Bag (2:07)

NRS rafting guru Clyde Nicely shows you how to properly roll up your waterproof dry bag in this short instructional video. There are just a few simple steps you need to follow to get the best water-tight seal. Push out most of the air, then fold, rather than roll, the bag top. (Folding creates more sharp bends to block water entry.) Fold the top of the dry bag at least three times, then snap the buckle shut. Closed properly, NRS Drybags keep your gear dry while rafting, kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddling. The StormStrip closure on NRS dry bags is time- and boater-tested to protect your water sports gear. The StormStrip closure is used on the NRS Bill's Bag, Outfitter Bag, System 5 Bag, Expedition DriDuffel, Day Pack, Access Duffel, Tuff Sack, Ricksack and Dri-Stow Bag. It also protects and backs up the waterproof zip seal on HydroLock Dry Bags.

I love this bag! I used it on a recent week-long kayak wilderness trip, along with some other bags. This one stows nicely way up front in my kayak. I have 2, and they worked well to keep my camp shoes and sleepwear dry.
I also used this in my bicycle panniers for a multi-day trek to keep my clothes dry.

The descriptive ad for the NRS Dri-Stow Dry Bag is right on when they say "Constructed with the occasional boater in mind". After 1 season of sailboat racing, my bag ripped where you fold it over at the top seam. Company reps were understanding and sent me a new one right away as a replacement. I will spend more money and get their better bag next time.

Comments about NRS Dri-Stow Dry Bag:

We purchased a 'boat load' of these as Christmas gifts (and a few spares) this year for members of a growing paddling family. Our original bag has never left us down after hard use. Another fine and value priced piece of gear from NRS.

Comments about NRS Dri-Stow Dry Bag:

I like using smaller, lighter dry bags, as every ounce counts. I found this bag to be just the one for what I needed. I like being able to see inside too.

Comments about NRS Dri-Stow Dry Bag:

Super convenient for seeing what is in your bag, and where it is at in your bag, without having to dig and guess. I've used this bag whitewater kayaking, guiding whitewater raft trips, and most recently for storing food during extended backpacking trips. In all situations it has kept it's contents dry and accessible. It is clear to me that this is a sweet bag.

Comments about NRS Dri-Stow Dry Bag:

I went on a four day canoe trip and used three NRS bags of different materials and this is the only one that leaked when we got water in the bottom of the canoe from a big rain storm. When I brought it home I noticed a tear in the clear plastic down by the bottom. It is possible that maybe it got up against something sharp somewhere along the line. I liked being able to see the contents but will not get another one again.
