Comments about NRS Constrictor Cable Lock:

This is great for what it is, keeping your stuff together so that someone has to use some amount of effort to walk off with it. The length of cable and 4 digit combo are great. Just don't expect it to hold up to much abuse. The combo wheels are close together and small, making turing just one a dexterious exercise.

Comments about NRS Constrictor Cable Lock:

nrs usually makes something that is ok in quality, and then makes it a little bit better every year until it is finally something awesome, the constrictor aspect of the lock is great, you can make the lock any lenth you want between 0-4 feet so it wont be bouncing around on your rack as you go down the road and also aids in keep the boat tight on the rack, in the future i would like to see a burlier cable that is longer with the same basic design, the comment i get from most people about the lock is that if you look at it it will fall off

Comments about NRS Constrictor Cable Lock:

I've looked a other cable locks and they're bigger and bulky. This one fits in your pocket easily. Has 4 digit combination which is nice. The cable is long. I'd recommend it to all my skiing buddies who are looking for a great lock to keep their skiis safe when taking a break in the chalet. Works great for short bike rides too.

      Asleep on the train

Comments about NRS Constrictor Cable Lock:

I use this lock to keep my carry-on luggage briefly safe while I leave my seat on the train or while I am napping. When you travel alone, it is nice to know you can keep your seat and leave your stuff pretty safely for short periods of time. It is easy to use, but I worry a bit about the plastic construction lasting in the long term, but at least it makes it light.

I just played with my cable lock to make sure I knew what I was talking about - holding the device with the pretty red button with 'NRS" facing you. There are two buttons on the right side (the big one allows the cable to retract or extend, and the other small button at the top is for the code reset!) Turn the number dials to the current code setting, then depress that little button for code reset - keeping the reset button depressed rotate the number wheels to the desired code! You're done.
Personally I like the little cable lock: it's lightweight, small, and serves the purpose. Of course it could be bigger, stronger, etc., etc., etc., but then it would be a pain to carry around - that is why"Kryptonite" created those giant U-locks!
Hope this helps - let me know if you have any further questions.

To set the combination, turn the dial to 0000. Then press and hold the small button at the top of the case on the side where the cable comes out, while resetting the combination. When you release the button, this is your new combination.

Yes…..good to go. This is unreal. I bought mine 6+ yrs ago & bought an extra one; the latter of which I just found UNOPENED. Here are the directions:
Have the NRS side facing you. The #1 button is on the top left, #2 top right & #3 bottom right. Set all numbers to zero. Press & hold #2 while choosing your combination, after which release #2. You should be all set.
I have an unopened one and it’s yours at no charge if you wish. I no longer use these types of locks. See ABUS combination locks online. I’ve a Catrike & this lock is available in 3 types. The mid-range is somewhat weighty, but with a costly bikes, no price is too much
